Audience Researcher
Do you have experience working with members of the public? Would you like to engage with and give a voice to diverse visitor groups at the Science Museum?
About us
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Audience Research and Advocacy team at the Science Museum Group (SMG). Our mission is to inspire futures, guided by our strategy. Audience research is central to our approach, which is audience-centered, equitable, evidence-based, collaborative, relevant, agile, efficient, and sustainable.
We are recruiting a full-time Audience Researcher on a 24-month fixed-term contract. The role is based at the Science Museum in London, with hybrid working options available.
About the role
As an Audience Researcher, you will conduct research with various visitors, including families, school groups, neurodivergent individuals, and adults, to support the development of galleries, learning resources, programs, events, and activities. You will make evidence-based recommendations to relevant teams across SMG based on your findings. Full training in research methods, including interviews, observation, and qualitative data analysis, will be provided.
About you
You will have good interpersonal skills and experience working with the public, with an understanding of diverse audiences and access requirements, including D/deaf, visually impaired, and neurodiverse communities. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work well in a team, and experience with qualitative research methods are essential. You should be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
We welcome applications even if you do not meet all criteria but possess transferable skills.
