My client is a boutique, commercial law firm that’s keen to recruit their very first HR Manager, on a 3 Day a week basis.
They have expanded and due to their growth and successes over the years, they are at the stage where they need to formalise the HR function, professionalising the way they do things and there is a lot of work to do!
They need someone who has an excellent understanding of all areas of HR, and the ability to adapt to the needs and culture of a boutique firm. This is a fast paced, hands‑on role and will involve providing input at both a strategic and operational level.
This is a terrific opportunity for an HR professional to bring together all their skills, knowledge and experience in this 360⁰ standalone role.
To apply, you’ll need solid HR Management or Business Partner experience, across the full HR spectrum, experience managing employee relations cases. (though these are few and far between) and experience within the legal sector would be a distinct advantage; of more importance is an understanding of Partnerships and the dynamics that influence these.
The ability to build relationships based on trust, work with discretion, and apply excellent judgement is key to this role, as is the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively (including sensitive or frank messages) using the most appropriate medium and avoiding the use of jargon.
In return you will be joining an informal and collaborative practice, quite different to a large city firm and be involved in many key policy‑making decisions and-related projects.
