Here at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time position in the cardiac device service. We are a joint service that offers cardiac, respiratory and sleep investigations working from Salford Royal, 5 diagnostic spokes and 1 community diagnostic hub. The successful candidate will be working towards Heart Rhythm Society accreditation. Main duties of the job
Specialist Cardiac Physiologist is required to work without supervision as a competent practitioner performing a range of specialised investigations. Duties will include; supporting pacemaker/ILR implantation, device follow ups and a range of routine investigations. The post holder will support the Pacemaker Service Lead, assisting with the administration of the service and deputising when necessary. Teaching and supervision of junior staff will be required at this level.
- Advanced knowledge/skills in Cardiology for direct and high-quality care.
- Assist during pacemaker implantation, performing comprehensive tests and assisting doctors in the appropriate pacemaker prescription and model from stock available.
- Act as lead physiologist in pacemaker led follow up clinics using knowledge and skills to interpret results, reprogramming pacemakers as appropriate including complex devices.
- To be trained and accredited under the auspices of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and to partake in providing Immediate Life Support (ILS) cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as and when necessary.
