The post consists of sessions at the Northern Care Alliance. The post is suitable for a practitioner who has completed a minimum of five years post-qualification and relevant experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The possession of the MFDS, RCS or FDS, RCS is essential; full registration with the General Dental Council is essential. There is no on-call commitment.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Outpatient care of patients at the Salford Royal Hospital site.
  • Consultation clinics and operating on patients under local anaesthesia and sedation.
  • A sub-specialty interest in dentoalveolar surgery.
  • Providing advice and assistance to junior dental staff in training as needed.

The Trust is keen that the post holder continues training and development whilst in post, with options for clinical responsibilities to evolve over time.

Person specification qualifications include:

  • BDS or Recognised equivalent
  • FDSRCS/ MFDS
  • Higher Degree

Previous experience required:

  • 5 years full-time hospital service in SHO or higher grade
  • Assessment of emergencies
