Band 2 Receptionist (Pre-op Assessment)

**This is a part-time post for 15 hours per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 08:30 - 16:30).**

The receptionist will have the ability to perform complex administrative functions and will be responsible for receiving patients and visitors attending outpatient clinics taking ownership of escalated administrative issues where appropriate.

The receptionist works in close partnership with medical, nursing and other admin staff to ensure the smooth running of the Pre-op Assessment clinic.

Main duties of the job

Reception is the first point of contact within our busy service - therefore, you should have a friendly, mature attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.

We are looking for a team player with great communication and excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards work.

The role will involve booking appointments, greeting patients, checking patients in and out of clinics using the Trust IT system, and responding to enquiries from patients, relatives, members of primary and secondary care team.

You will be required to work individually and also within a team.

You should have GCSE or an equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics and also be computer literate.

Previous customer-facing experience is desirable.
