An opportunity within the Staffordshire Community Secretarial Team at Samuel Johnson Community Hospital, with cross-site working at Samuel Johnson and Sir Robert Peel Community Hospitals. The post is available as full-time (37.5 hours/week) or part-time (30 or 22.5 hours/week). The role provides administrative support to secretarial teams and wider colleagues, answering telephone calls from patients, supporting patients with queries, escalating clinical questions as required, and ensuring letters are sent out on time.
Main Duties of the Job:
- Editing and dispatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS medical patients within agreed timescales and quality standard.
- Act as a point of contact for patients and medical staff, ensuring queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner.
Knowledge, Training & Experience:
- Good standard of English (O level/GCSE A-C or equivalent).
- Experience working in an administrative/patient-care environment.
- Experience in an NHS Administration role.
- Understanding of 18-RTT process.
- Understanding of NHS cancer targets.
Skills & Ability:
- Advanced level of IT including Microsoft Word and Excel, ability to work to deadlines.
- Knowledge of NHS IT Systems such as T-Pro, Meditech, CRIS.
Communication:
- Good communication skills, excellent written and verbal.
