Job overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join ward 6, our trauma & orthopaedic ward. You will be required to confidently support orthopaedic patients with a range of orthopaedic conditions and needs. You will focus on providing a high standard of patient care, engaging with colleagues, adapting and being flexible to the complex nature of Ward 6. If you are a strong, caring and compassionate individual who works well under pressure and wants to deliver quality care then please apply. This role covers long days, nights and weekends. You will be fully supported during your transition with supernumerary status and additional training tailored to meet the requirements of the ward for the delivery of safe and high quality care.

Main duties of the job:

  • To provide direct nursing care to patients whilst ensuring you are acting as an advocate for often a vulnerable patient group.
  • To ensure relatives and patients are kept fully informed of the patients' journey.
  • Working closely with members of the MDT in order to promote early mobilization, optimized analgesia and safe, early discharge home.
  • As a flexible employer we can offer part time and full time hours.

  • Education and Qualification:
    • Registered Nursing associate on NMC registered
    • Practice supervisor training
    • Evidence of recent and ongoing professional development
  • Knowledge and Experience:
    • Broad clinical knowledge
    • Recent experience working in an acute clinical environment
    • Experience in orthopaedic patients
  • Skill and Knowledge:
    • Understand and act in line with NMC professional standards for practice
    • Demonstrates adherence to trust’s “CARES” value and behaviour
    • Flexible
    • Good time management and prioritization skills
