To be part of the clerical team in Radiology, making appointment bookings, and dealing with patients mainly by telephone and sometimes in person. You will be expected to do general reception duties as required. To ensure all patients receive the highest customer care and all staff and patients visiting the radiology department are dealt with professionally. The post holder will be based on the Epsom Hospital site in the Radiology Diagnostic Booking Centre; however, some flexibility is necessary to attend St Helier as and when management requires it. The role is full-time Monday - Friday.
Main duties of the job:
- Carry out administrative and clerical duties in the Radiology department based at Epsom Hospital.
- Appointment bookings and occasional reception duties, dealing with patients both in person and by telephone.
- Excellent communication skills with knowledge of IT and keyboard skills.
- Experience of appointment booking and reception duties is desirable although full training will be given.
- Must be keen to learn, enjoy a challenge and have the ability to work collaboratively in a large team.
Person specification:
- Qualifications: Good level of general education.
- Experience: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, professionals & patients. Experience of dealing with the public.
- Knowledge: Basic keyboard skills, good organisational skills, ability to work methodically, ability to use own initiative, maintain confidentiality, good telephone manner, experience with Soliton, experience with IPM, ability to work without supervision.
- Personal: Ability to work as part of a team, ability to work under pressure, flexible approach to duties, willing to learn new procedures.
