Hours: 10 sessions per week (9 Interventional, 1 Diagnostic)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and progressive Consultant to join our Interventional Radiology team. The appointee will provide interventional radiology services across multiple sites and will cover on‑call duties.

Main Duties

  • Contribute to the IR service and support the training and supervision of junior radiologists.
  • Participate in the Black Country Alliance non‑vascular IR on‑call system (24/7 service across four trusts).
  • Provide acute services including renal stone management, uterine artery embolisation, renal ablation and other non‑vascular interventions.
  • Work within the Black Country Hub and support the return of vascular services.

Qualifications

  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Radiology (or expected within six months of interview).
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in radiology.

Experience

  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergencies.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients.
  • Special interest that complements the existing consultants.

Management and Administrative Experience

  • Strategic planning and sound judgment under pressure.
  • Motivation and development of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective workload prioritisation.
