This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic senior clinician to lead and shape frailty services within Acute Medicine. The role sits at the heart of a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment, providing expert clinical leadership to support some of our most complex and vulnerable patients. You will play a pivotal role in driving high‑quality, person‑centred care, influencing pathways and enhancing outcomes for individuals with frailty across the acute setting.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Work effectively in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including other health professionals, to promote the development, planning and delivery of intervention programmes and training in the specialist clinical area.
  • Lead on clinical decision‑making, workforce development and service innovation.
  • Participate in service projects and audits; supervise and support SLT staff.
  • Cover weekend working rota.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications:

  • Speech & Language Therapy Degree.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • MSc or equivalent, including a post‑graduate dysphagia qualification to at least RCSLT level C.
  • Evidence of specialist post‑graduate CPD/training relevant to the post.
  • Membership of relevant CEN.

Experience:

  • Significant post‑graduate experience working with Stroke.
  • Evidence of working effectively in partnership with others within MDTs and across agencies.
  • Experience delivering group therapy sessions face‑to‑face and online.

Skills:

  • Evidence of high‑quality data processing and interpretation.
  • Evidence of critical appraisal and research skills.
  • Evidence of high‑quality innovation and service development.
  • VF or FEES experience.

Additional Information:

You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and will require Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
