We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and progressive Consultant to join our Interventional Radiology team. The appointee will provide interventional radiology services across multiple sites and will cover on-call duties.

Main Duties:

  • Contribute to the IR service and support the training and supervision of junior radiologists.
  • Participate in the Black Country Alliance non-vascular IR on-call system (24/7 service across four trusts).
  • Provide acute services including renal stone management, uterine artery embolisation, renal ablation and other non-vascular interventions.
  • Work within the Black Country Hub and support the return of vascular services.

Qualifications:

  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Radiology (or expected within six months of interview).
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in radiology.

Experience:

  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergencies.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients.
  • Special interest that complements the existing consultants.

Management and Administrative Experience:

  • Strategic planning and sound judgment under pressure.
  • Motivation and development of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective workload prioritisation.
