We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our innovative pain management team covering all aspects of pain care. The ideal candidate will be a current Band 6 or 7 nurse with significant experience in pain management, hold a non‑medical prescribing qualification and an MSc in Pain Management or demonstrate a willingness to undertake one. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds, and formal teaching skills are essential. - Day‑to‑day management of the service alongside other Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialists
Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
The post holder will be responsible for the management and development of pain management across the Trust, ensuring that the service is delivered equitably and to a consistently high standard. This may include the management of a caseload of patients. The post holders’ practice should be developed to an advanced level, whereby the clinical nurse specialist can directly or indirectly influence all aspects of care and management related to the patient in pain by providing specialist knowledge and advice. Apply the principles of therapeutic and safe prescribing. Function at a higher level of practice as part of the multidisciplinary team to support pain services delivered. The post holder will ensure the delivery of high quality, clinically effective care, prioritising and utilising research in everyday practice. They will also develop and deliver a programme of practice development for staff in the Trust. The post holder will assume elements of management responsibility as well as acting as a change agent within the multidisciplinary team. When visiting patients with complex pain management needs, the post holder must recognise that they are not the primary carer, but must seek to equip the primary carer with the required skills and knowledge, so that the highest standards of care can be made available to the maximum number of patients.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) and the Order 2020; disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
