Band 8b Head of Infection Prevention and Control This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with extensive experience in the practice of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) to lead the IPC Team at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate must demonstrate significant understanding of IPC, quality and safety, compassionate and inspirational leadership, and team management. Main duties * Lead and manage the IPC Team, providing supportive, educational and advisory services to staff and patients across the Trust. * Lead the delivery of staff vaccination programmes for influenza and COVID-19. Person specification Qualifications * Registered Nurse (Level 1 or higher). * Qualification in Infection Control or a related field. * Education to Master’s level or equivalent. Experience * Significant experience working as a qualified nurse in infection prevention and control. * Experience providing expert clinical advice and support to staff and patients on IPC issues. * Experience contributing to the development of an IPC nursing service. In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non‑clinical roles and Band 3 non‑clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship. Non‑clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7‑9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.
