As our Head of Production and Technical, you will lead a large and passionate team of event managers, lighting, sound, AV and stage technicians in delivering over 1,500 unforgettable events a year — from the BBC Proms and Cirque du Soleil, to the Festival of Remembrance and Teenage Cancer Trust concerts. You’ll be responsible for ensuring seamless live event support, managing venue-wide technology systems, and delivering an exceptional experience for artists, promoters, audiences and broadcast partners alike.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and motivating a high-performing team across all areas of production and technical delivery
- Acting as the principal point of contact for promoters and technical teams, ensuring smooth and spectacular events
- Overseeing the operation, maintenance, and innovation of AV, lighting, and sound systems across the venue
- Managing complex production schedules and budgets, ensuring both excellence and efficiency
- Embedding technical excellence and service at the heart of everything we do — from headline acts to community outreach.
About You
You’re a confident leader and communicator with extensive experience in technical or production management in a major venue or live events environment. You bring:
- A deep understanding of live production and technical infrastructure, including sound, lighting, rigging, staging and crewing
- A collaborative, forward-thinking approach — ready to solve problems and embrace new ideas
- Excellent management and leadership skills
- A strong focus on customer and artist experience, with the drive to always go the extra mile
- The ability to balance tradition with innovation — and lead a team that does the same.
