Position: Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Crawley
Working Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday (term time only)

About the Role:

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in your local area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside teachers and pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, providing valuable support where it\’s needed most. Your role will be essential in helping to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all children.

SEN experience is highly desirable, as you may be working one-to-one or with small groups of children with additional learning needs.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Working with pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis, particularly those with SEN

  • Helping to create a nurturing and safe classroom environment

  • Assisting with classroom preparation, displays, and general admin tasks

  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence

  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to meet pupil needs

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in a primary school setting (voluntary or paid)

  • SEN experience or understanding of various additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)

  • A positive, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
