About the Role?
This position entails operating a Compact Sweeper with a gross vehicle weight of under 3.5 tonnes. The role is integral to a service-oriented street cleansing team, focused on maintaining and enhancing the cleanliness of the City streets.
This role involves maintaining cleanliness across designated sites, including collecting and disposing of waste at local transfer stations. The operative is responsible for conducting vehicle checks, washing equipment, and ensuring health and safety standards are upheld. Duties also include assisting with manoeuvring, supporting team operations, completing service-related paperwork, and reporting issues such as fly tipping or faulty machinery. The position requires flexibility to adapt to operational changes, a commitment to high-quality service, respectful customer interaction, and ongoing training to meet fleet compliance standards.
Candidates must possess a full UK B driving license, with a C1 license being desirable. Local geographical knowledge and familiarity with health and safety regulations are advantageous. Essential skills include basic literacy and numeracy, the ability to work under pressure with attention to detail, effective communication, teamwork, reliability, and the capability to perform manual tasks.

• 23 days annual leave, rising to 24 days after 3 years and 25 days after 5 years. Plus 8 bank holidays.
This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
