As a Spray Painter / Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician you will need an eye for detail, a strong understanding of the various surface preparation methods and the flexibility to travel UK wide.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Spray Painter / Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician will include:
• Operate and maintain a variety of spray painting equipment, including conventional, airless, and HVLP systems, to apply a range of coatings
• Prepare surfaces thoroughly for painting, which may include cleaning, degreasing, sanding, masking, filling, and blasting (where applicable), ensuring optimal adhesion and finish quality
• Select and mix appropriate paint types (e.g., acrylics, enamels, epoxies, polyurethanes) according to job specifications, ensuring correct viscosity and colour matching
• Apply paint coats evenly and consistently, adhering to specified film thicknesses and drying times, to achieve a high-quality, durable, and aesthetically pleasing finish
• Conduct quality checks throughout the painting process, identifying and rectifying any imperfections such as runs, sags, dry spray, or inconsistent coverage
• Interpret technical drawings, work orders, and specifications to ensure accurate application and adherence to client requirements
• Maintain and clean spray guns, paint pots, hoses, and other equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and longevity
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience in spray painting
• Proficient in different paint techniques
• Familiar with different paint types
• Familiar with different types of surface preparation
• Familiarity with fleet, rail, or signage environments
• Conversant with job specific RPE & HSE Protocols
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours (including nights/weekends if required)
DESIRABLE
• Any relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS card, IPAF, PASMA) would be preferred, although not essential.
