The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.
The post holder will work in the cardiology department, being an integral member of the cardiology and cardiothoracic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing ward support as a ‘middle grade of the week’ role, working alongside the consultant of the week to provide inpatient care for cardiology patients. They will also gain experience in outpatient clinics as well as exposure to catheter laboratory procedures (including coronary angiography and pacemaker insertion) and echocardiography. The post holder will participate on the on-call rota, which is currently a 1:12 full shift system, including the provision of a 24/7 primary PCI service to Wolverhampton and the surrounding regions.

General Responsibilities
- Participate in the department’s rota, providing cover for colleagues’ leave.
- Contribute to medical audits and research as appropriate.
- Ensure clinical governance requirements are met.
- Maintain adequate communication channels for hospital staff involved in patient care.
Junior Medical Staff
- Work with Consultants and senior colleagues in supervising junior medical staff.
Management & Service Development
- Optimize departmental staffing and resources for maximum efficiency.
- Follow Trust policies and procedures, including management and financial directives.
Clinical Governance
Ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements.
Health & Safety
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Report and manage hazards appropriately.
Any Other Duties
Perform other duties as deemed appropriate.
