Long Term Futures are working with a highly regarded specialist Post-16 provision in Harrow that supports young people aged 16-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

This standalone setting offers a therapeutic, structured and skills-based environment that focuses on independence, communication and social development. Students follow personalised pathways that include life skills, community access, and functional literacy and numeracy.

The school is looking to appoint an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of autism and is confident supporting neurodivergent learners in a tailored setting.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for young people with autism and associated needs
* Use communication systems such as PECS, Makaton and visual schedules
* Support with structured learning tasks, life skills programmes and transition planning
* Encourage independence, emotional regulation and confidence in community settings
* Collaborate with therapists, tutors and pastoral staff to meet EHCP outcomes
* Assist with planning and feedback as part of a collaborative team

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting young people with autism in a specialist or alternative provision
* Knowledge of sensory needs, emotional regulation strategies and communication systems
* A calm, consistent and professional manner
* Passion for supporting post-16 learners on pathways to adulthood
* Team-focused approach with excellent communication skills
