Policy & Governance Advisor

Ashwood Business Park, Ashington

Salary: £30,712 per annum

Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Temporary 9 – 12 month (Maternity cover)

Closing Date: 5PM 11th August 2025.

Are you interested in governance and policy? Do you have an eye for detail and strong IT and communication skills? If so, our Policy and Governance advisor role could be for you! Working in the Governance team you will maintain Bernicia’s policy suite and work with the Head of Governance to support regulatory compliance across the business.

This role could suit a graduate looking a temporary role to provide experience and develop skills.

Role Benefits:

28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) for full time employees; pro-rata to part time employees.
Working from home up to 2 days per week, if relevant to the role.

About the Policy & Governance Advisor Role:

This role will involve:

The governance of Bernicia’s suite of policies, including maintaining our toolkit and supporting policy owners to ensure all polices are up to date, reflect current regulation and legislation, and are reviewed regularly
Managing policies on the intranet to ensure policy and supporting documents are easy to access, up to date and readership is monitored
Carrying out horizon scanning, research and analysis on emerging social housing regulatory changes.

Good level of written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through academic achievement or experience
Good technical and digital skills – proficient in using Microsoft word, excel, teams, PowerPoint.
