Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for a new challenge in a dynamic commercial environment? We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading building services provider, delivering both planned and reactive M&E maintenance at a prestigious site in Moorgate, London.
Role Overview: As a key member of the on-site engineering team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of mechanical and building services systems across a large commercial property. You’ll work on a continental shift rota (days and nights) alongside other engineers to ensure smooth and efficient facility operations 24/7.
️ Responsibilities:
– Carrying out PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) on mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps, valves, FCUs, AHUs etc.)
– Responding to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns
– Fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical plant and equipment
– Working closely with electrical engineers and contractors on-site
– Ensuring all work is completed to high health & safety and compliance standards
– Accurate logging of tasks via CAFM systems
Requirements:
– Mechanical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
– Proven experience in commercial building maintenance
– Strong understanding of mechanical building services and systems
– Good communication and teamwork skills
– Flexible and reliable, able to work both days and nights on a shift rota
