This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Fitter / Turner to join a growing business with a strong reputation across a wide range of sectors, including Renewable Energy, Construction, Manufacturing, Flood Defence, Automotive, and more.
What\βs on Offer:
- Permanent full-time position.

Β£16.13 per hour plus premium overtime:
- Time and a half after standard hours.
- Double time on Sundays and bank holidays.
32 days annual leave (including bank holidays).Excellent long-term opportunity with a forward-thinking company.Hours of Work:
- Monday to Thursday: 8am β 4:30pm.
- Friday: 8am β 3pm.
- Total: 39-hour week.
Key Responsibilities:
You\βll work in a skilled machine shop and will be responsible for the precision machining, turning, milling, and fitting of high-spec components for various industries.
- Operate manual lathes (e.g. Colchester Mascot 1600, Binns and Berry Trident L850).
- Operate a Correa manual milling machine with 3-axis Heidenhain digital screen.
- Set up and use radial arm drills.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Work to high standards of accuracy and finish.
Requirements:
- Time-served Fitter / Turner with proven manual machining experience.
- Strong knowledge of both manual and CNC operations.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Proactive and solution-focused attitude.
- Strong team player with a \βcan-do\β mindset.
Desirable Skills (Not Essential):
- Experience using and programming XYZ 1100 CNC Lathes.
- Programming and operating 3-axis CNC milling machines.
- General mechanical fitting skills.
- Forklift licence and gantry crane operation experience.
