The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is a Cancer Centre providing comprehensive cancer services to Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. The Trust aims to innovate and improve patient care.
Due to significant investment, a new pharmacy aseptic, clinical trials, and radiopharmacy facility will be handed over later this year.
We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated pharmacist to join our expanding and friendly Aseptic team.
This role offers an opportunity for a pharmacist interested in cancer, nutrition, and technical services, with experience in haematology, oncology, intrathecal chemotherapy, clinical trials, and adult parenteral nutrition, within a busy aseptic unit.
Training includes support to complete the independent prescribing qualification. You will receive excellent support and training from senior pharmacists, with a focus on developing future clinical leaders.
We may consider applicants with limited aseptic experience, appointing successful candidates to a band 6 to 7 step-up programme.
Main Responsibilities:
- Act as an authorised pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical aseptic services.
- Deliver pharmaceutical services, including reviewing prescriptions and providing clinical pharmacy services to designated wards/departments.
- Lead the delivery of specialist pharmacy services within the Oncology and Haematology Directorate, working with the Assistant Director of Pharmacy.
- Supervise and support junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students, and support staff.

Further Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality aseptic and clinical pharmacy services to the oncology/haematology directorate.
- Act as an authorised pharmacist for aseptic services.
- Clinically verify and release aseptic products, including cancer treatments and parenteral nutrition bags.
- Provide specialist advice on parenteral nutrition prescribing and formulation.
- Participate in clinical trials supported by the pharmacy aseptic unit.
- Guide junior staff and promote appropriate drug use, prescribing practices, and development of guidelines and care pathways.
- Participate in monitoring systems, intervention tracking, and adverse drug reaction reporting.
- Assist other senior pharmacists at the Directorate level.
