Finance Assistant | Swindon, Kingswinford | Full Time, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm | Circa £33,750 per year (based on a 5-day week) – A 4-day week may be considered

Are you an experienced Finance Assistant looking for a new opportunity with a well-established and growing business?

Based in the heart of the West Midlands, our client is an independent building, landscaping, paint and tools supplies centre. The site was established over 25 years ago, where it primarily served the local community with landscaping materials. Since then, they have expanded and evolved their product offering significantly.

They are now looking for a skilled and proactive Finance Assistant to join their friendly team at their Swindon, Kingswinford site.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Experience managing end-to-end purchase and sales ledger processes
• Skilled in credit control and debt recovery to improve cash flow
• Confident handling of invoice processing, reconciliations, and account queries
• Accurate and attentive when managing high-volume financial transactions
• Proven ability to recover debt, improve cash flow, and reduce outstanding balances
• Knowledge of financial reporting, payment runs, and supplier relationship management
• Proactive approach to process improvement and audit support
• Ability to support financial compliance tasks, including VAT returns and payroll processing
• Ideally proficient in Sage 50 accounts or a similar accounting software

What will your role look like?

• Managing purchase and sales ledgers from start to finish
• Handling credit control and chasing outstanding payments to improve cash flow
• Processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and resolving queries
• Supporting financial reporting and supplier payments
• Assisting with compliance tasks, including VAT returns and payroll
• Contributing to process improvements and audit preparation
