We are looking to recruit a skilled social worker with forensic experience to work across our Community Mental Health Services. This project aims to enhance the confidence and competence of Forensic knowledge throughout Community Mental Health.

Exciting investment at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) allows us to expand our existing Forensic Community Mental Health Team. We’re building a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of 27 skilled professionals to deliver outstanding mental health care to adults with forensic presentations. This ambitious, 2-year project is backed by significant funding and is focused on transforming mental health services for people who are a risk to others.

What We’re Working On:

  1. Setting up a dedicated clinic space within a local remand prison
  2. Improving the transition pathway from secure care to community services
  3. Embedding forensic specialists into each Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  4. Providing consultation and formulation support to staff and services
  5. Creating a co-production forum for collaborative service development
  6. Offering targeted risk reduction interventions in the community
  7. Delivering comprehensive forensic training for all CWPT staff
  8. Leading research on community forensic services to shape future care

An important part of this role is supporting service users\’ transition into the community; therefore, your role will be imperative in providing care act, funding, and liaising with multiple service providers to ensure a safe and effective transition into the community.

You will form part of the multidisciplinary team and be expected to voice your professional experience to support the patients who are open to the service, and other services that may need your advice or support.

Visits to the team or questions are encouraged to appreciate this exciting, challenging role.

We encourage staff development, and you will be supported throughout your supervision and appraisal process to develop your skills and reach your potential.
