KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity and performance.
  2. Responsible for the safe supervision of the facilities and the health and safety of all facility users.
  3. Provide effective, preventative lifeguarding of all pool sessions.
  4. Carry out emergency action plans in case of accidents or injuries, including water rescues and first aid treatment, in line with training.
  5. Maintain physical and lifesaving training as required to comply with current Health & Safety regulations and additional standards set by High Life Highland, and participate in related training.
  6. Assist with and supervise the safe operation of water and land-based activities.
  7. Organise and lead activities and classes within the programme as required.
  8. Encourage safe and acceptable user behaviour.
  9. Teach swimming as part of the Learn to Swim Programme.
  10. Ensure equipment is maintained to safety and cleanliness standards and set out safely when needed.
  11. Liaise with other users and staff regarding day-to-day centre operations.
  12. Update yourself regularly on all relevant written procedures.
  13. Report any suggestions for improving the centre’s effectiveness and efficiency to the centre manager or supervisor.
  14. Ensure the facility cleaning programme is carried out to the required standard.
  15. Perform reception/cashier duties, including admission and cash control.
  16. Deliver inductions in the Fitness Suite.
  17. Promote and sell High Life Memberships to potential customers.
  18. Provide high-quality customer care.
  19. Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to ongoing improvements within The Fingal Centre and High Life Highland.
  20. Attend and undertake training, online or in person.
  21. Aim to reduce wastage and uphold sustainability and environmental values.
  22. Support other areas of High Life Highland with projects, training, or during holidays or sickness, working cross-functionally across the team.
  23. Work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with prior notice for leave requests.
  24. Undertake tasks in accordance with policies and procedures, including GDPR, health and safety, and reporting concerns for corrective action.
