Title: Catering Assistant – Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only) 24 HOURS PER WEEK

Location: Heath Mount School

Salary: £12.30 per hour

The role involves a Monday , Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 11am – 3pm Wednesday 11am – 7pm , Monday through Friday, following the school\’s term schedule, ensuring an excellent work-life balance. Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team in Watton at Stone, United Kingdom. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the smooth operation of our cafe.

  • Greet and serve customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea
  • Handle food preparation tasks, such as assembling sandwiches and plating pastries
  • Operate the cash register and process customer payments accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafe, including counters, tables, and equipment
  • Restock supplies and ensure product displays are attractive and well-maintained
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Assist with inventory management and placing orders for supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient cafe operations
  • Respond to customer inquiries and address any concerns promptly and professionally
  • Support special events or promotions as required

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a cafe or food service setting
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in cash handling and operating point-of-sale systems
  • Strong teamwork abilities and willingness to assist colleagues as needed
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean work environment
  • Adaptability to learn new skills and operate cafe equipment
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory
  • Food Handler\’s Certificate or willingness to obtain one (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
