What you’ll be doing:
Edinburgh Zoo is one of Scotland’s leading visitor attractions and a unique venue for conferences, meetings, weddings, and private events. Set within 82 acres of beautiful parkland, our venue offers inspiring spaces for everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, welcoming thousands of guests from around the world each year.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dedicated catering team at Edinburgh Zoo on a casual basis. As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our chefs and front-of-house teams, helping to keep kitchen areas clean, safe, and running smoothly in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Purpose of the role:
- Maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchens and associated working areas
- Ensuring all pots, pans, utensils and crockery are cleaned to the highest standard
- Deep cleaning fridges, ovens and storerooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards
- Working with and taking direction from the chefs
- Assisting with basic food preparation
- Transporting food and equipment between the on-site kitchens and storage areas
- Ensuring the correct use of all machinery and equipment
- Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
- Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
- Complying with Health & Safety regulations
