Bench Hand Joiner / Upholsterer
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 7:30am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
Location: Wakefield

Role Overview

We are seeking a Bench Hand Joiner / Upholsterer to join a production team. The role involves working at the bench to assemble frames, cut and prepare timber, glue and pin components, and carry out upholstery tasks. You will be using a variety of hand tools, a jigsaw, and other workshop equipment to produce high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble frames accurately using timber, glue, and fixings.
Cut and prepare timber to required specifications.
Use hand tools and a jigsaw safely and effectively.
Carry out pinning, gluing, and other joinery processes.
Assist with upholstery work, including preparing and fitting covers where required (full training provided)
Inspect work to ensure products meet quality standards.
Maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
Follow health & safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

Previous experience in bench joinery and/or upholstery (essential).
Skilled in using hand tools, jigsaws, and other woodworking equipment.
Good practical ability and attention to detail.
Ability to work from instructions and technical drawings.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
