The Advanced Practice Facilitator will be responsible for the Trust wide development and leadership of Advanced Clinical practitioners (ACP) in collaboration with the Associate Director of Nursing (ADN) for Education and Research. They will support the trustβs Chief Nursing Officer and ADN in developing, leading and implementing a multi professional, organisational advanced practice strategy. They will provide highly specialised, expert advice, education, consultancy and clinical expertise.
This post will provide clinical leadership and support for advanced practice within Nursing. Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) teams. The post holder will work as a senior leader within the Trust, responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced practice education, supervision and roles across the Trust. The post holder will work effectively alongside the ADN, to proactively influence regional and national priorities related to advanced clinical practice. They will ensure that appropriate frameworks for guidance, clinical governance, competency assessment and continuing education are in place for both the development of trainee and qualified ACPs.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
This post will provide a key leadership role in the delivery of the Advancing Practice portfolio β reporting to the Associate Director of Nursing for Education and Research with specific responsibilities in supporting and evidencing the supervision of trainee and qualified advanced practitioners, scoping ACP Trustwide for e-Portfolio requirements and strengthening governance arrangements for advancing practice.
You will be an experienced and actively practicing Advanced Clinical Practitioner who holds a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice and be able to demonstrate highly developed knowledge, skills, leadership and experience to work at a strategic senior level Trustwide.

β’ To take overall lead responsibility in collaboration with ADN in providing effective professional leadership and governance to the ACP teams across the trust.
β’ Represent the ADN as required at Trust, ICS, Regional, National level.
β’ To develop an ACP clinical governance structure across the trust ensuring that learning and quality improvements are embedded
β’ To facilitate standardisation of ACP and advanced roles across UHCW.
β’ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local HEI providers.
β’ Nurture key relationships and maintain networks internally and externally, including national networks
β’ To be responsible for ensuring the ACP workforce maintain their performance, training, supervision and annual appraisals.
β’ To identify resources and effectively communicate with groups to ensure continuous professional development.
β’ To provide expert clinical leadership in the development and delivery of new systems and processes which facilitate improved ACP, recruitment, training, development and retention.
β’ To provide senior professional trust leadership for ACPs to motivate, inspire and develop trainee ACPs and trained ACPs in achieving excellence in their role.
β’ Develop and lead the UHCW trainee and qualified ACP forums reporting as appropriate.
β’ Establish effective means of engaging and involving patients, carers and the wider public in the development and evaluation of the strategy for ACP.
β’ Identify challenges that may accompany the implementation of an ACP long-term strategy and direct or influence the necessary measures to overcome them.
β’ Lead and participate on timely recruitment, liaising closely with Trust HR and recruitment to ensure recruitment best practice is in place at all times.
β’ To chair or be a member of groups and committees as required by the needs of the service.
