An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our West Midlands Asset Performance teams working predominantly across Gloucestershire & Worcestershire.
This role will require both office (Tewkesbury, occasionally Kidderminster) and field working, with an average of 3 days per week all seasons spent working in the field across the area, the rest in the office. There may be some opportunity with agreement of your manager for flexible working.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the environment and is comfortable with working outdoors in all weather conditions.

In this role you will play a key part in managing our assets by undertaking inspections, collecting data and assisting with planning the future management requirements. You will assist with the continual improvement of our asset data and information.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents. This may attract additional payment, and full training and workplace adjustments will be available to support you.

Due to the nature of the sites we visit and stand-by incident duty all candidates must live within 45 minutes of their base location and be able to swim.

You will need to have a Full UK driving licence prior to applying and access to your own vehicle.

The team

Asset management plays a huge part in the work that the EA does to help protect against flooding and minimising the risks caused by any floods that occur. We do this by working alongside internal colleagues such as our field teams, local councils, charities and partner agencies. We ensure that assets are inspected, surveyed, maintained and operated in a safe and effective manner.

Experience/skills required

We are looking for passionate people with transferable skills and capabilities, therefore, you should not be put off applying if you don’t have a degree and/or experience in this sector.

Role Requirements:
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
• Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information.
• An appreciation of flood risk assets or assessment management (desirable but not essential).
• Ability to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes.
• Good organisational skills and an ability to use MS Office and learn to use bespoke IT packages.
• Excellent communication skills are a must as you will be working with a diverse range of people.

• You will need to have a Full UK driving licence prior to applying and access to your own vehicle with business insurance.
