World Wide Technology (WWT) has an opportunity for a Cloud Security Engineer. This role is part of WWT's Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT's preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Cloud Security Engineer
Contract Duration: 6 months
Location: Ipswich, United Kingdom (Hybrid- 3 days onsite per week)
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of existing Azure environments to identify gaps and recommend appropriate cloud security controls.
- Translate findings into actionable recommendations aligned with organizational security frameworks.
- Define, implement, and operationalize cloud security controls across Azure and other cloud platforms.
- Validate and test security controls to ensure reliability, effectiveness, alignment with security policies, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed controls early in the design and build lifecycle (shift-left security).
- Offer insights and thought leadership on cloud security best practices, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Partner with teams exploring AI agents, AI-enabled workloads, and emerging technologies, ensuring these innovations are built and deployed securely.
- Help define guardrails and security patterns for next-generation cloud initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments.
- Solid understanding of Azure architecture, networking, IAM, security, and governance constructs.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, including implementation and tuning.
- Familiarity with Prisma Cloud (Palo Alto) for cloud security posture management (CSPM) and workload protection.
- Proven background designing, implementing, and validating cloud security controls.
- Ability to interpret and apply security frameworks, best practices, and compliance.
Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract. Must be eligible to live and work in the specified work location. Some occasional travel may be required. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
