WWT EMEA has an opportunity for a Cross-Platform Developer to design, evaluate, and implement a modern development environment across Windows and Linux. The successful candidate will focus on enabling developer productivity while ensuring strong security alignment, supporting large-scale Windows 11 feature adoption, and shaping the long-term strategy for a unified development platform.
This is a contract role inside IR35.
Contract Duration: 3 months
Contract Location: Remote, United Kingdom (Occasional travel to London as per business need)
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and implement WSL2 to improve developer workflows.
- Balance security requirements with developer experience, partnering closely with security teams.
- Collaborate with architecture teams to define a cross-platform developer environment strategy.
Must-Have Skills:
- Cross-platform development: Comfortable developing on both Windows and Linux; hands-on WSL experience.
- Strong understanding of Windows 11 developer tooling (Dev Drive, WSL2, Hyper-V, containerization).
- Docker/containerization expertise on Windows, across both WSL2 and Hyper-V; understands performance and security trade-offs.
- Solid grasp of SDLC and CI/CD best practices; ability to align tooling with governance and release workflows.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- MacOS development experience.
- Exposure to endpoint security tools (e.g., BeyondTrust, privilege/app control).
- Experience working in regulated financial services.
- Familiarity with Intune and modern device management for developers.
- CI/CD experience (preferably GitHub Actions).
- Windows performance profiling and optimization skills.
