We are looking for hard working, experienced, NMC Registered qualified nurses to deliver high quality care to our patients on Swinley Ward within the surgical directorate. Roles are full time and part time, working day and night shifts. We are a 26 bedded female Surgical Ward & Gynaecology Assessment Unit. Our surgical patients include urology, colorectal, breast, gynae and ENT; however, we also care for outlying medical and orthopaedic patients. Swinley Ward is a fast paced ward with high acuity and a dedicated team of nurses that will support you into your new role. We offer training and development opportunities for you to develop your skills.
Main duties of the job:
- Under the supervision of the ward manager, the nurse is responsible for the provision, organisation and direction of nursing care of the patients in his/her care.
- To communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and high quality care is provided to all patients.

- To complete patient documentation and undertake record keeping in a timely manner, ensuring that all entries are accurate and legible and that information systems are maintained.
- To provide information as required, including notification of adverse events and accidents to patients, staff and visitors.
Communications and Key Working Relationships:
- In conjunction with senior nursing staff and specialist nurses participate in the setting/monitoring and evaluation of standards of care to patients.
- To assist with the investigation and timely resolution of complaints and PALS enquiries.

- Previous experience in caring environment.

- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain and improve standards of care
- Ability to challenge unacceptable behaviour or practice in a professional context
- Basic Computer Skills
- Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
