We are seeking a Healthcare Support Worker to commence on the Acute Stroke Unit Ward within the Division of Medicine.

The role involves assisting nursing staff and delivering patient care under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

  • Assist patients with washing, dressing, personal care, beverages and/or meals.
  • Assist qualified nursing and medical staff when requested.
  • Communicate with all members of the team to maintain good service provision.
  • Ensure patients meet hygiene needs, providing appropriate assistance.
  • Prepare and support patients during any activity that is to be undertaken.
  • Alert the registered nurse of changes in the patient’s health and well‑being or any risks.
  • Ensure effective use of material resources/supplies within the ward/unit in consultation with senior staff.
  • Assist with cleaning and restocking of resources and preparing patient beds.
  • Contribute to personal development and actively participate in learning opportunities.
