An exciting opportunity has arisen within WWL for an experienced, well-motivated and enthusiastic Data Administrator to join the Supportive and Palliative Care Team on a part-time permanent basis. The role will consist of 30 hours a week, with the main aim to support the team with ongoing developments and provide support on a range of data projects. The post holder will also be required to provide administrative support to the supportive and palliative care support worker, consultant PA and clinical team.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Producing and collating data using a range of data and information systems to produce routine reports.
  • Ensuring that data quality is at the forefront of their work and undertaking data quality checks.
  • Managing data for Integrated Palliative Outcome Scale (IPOS), KPIs/Outcome measures and Electronic Palliative Care Coordination Systems (EPaCCs).
  • Data entry, analysis, validation and manipulation.
  • Collating information from various resources and producing graphical representations of data using Excel.
  • Attending various data-related meetings.
  • Assisting with day-to-day administrative duties to promote an efficient service.
  • Providing cross cover for Supportive and Palliative Care Support worker/Consultant PA.

Planning and organisational duties include:

  • Planning own workload and liaising with colleagues to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
  • Ensuring awareness of project timescales and working with colleagues to deliver project milestones within timescale.
  • Timely and accurate processing of information relating to the team’s data collection.

Communications and key working relationships involve:

  • Communicating interdepartmentally with all levels of staff and external agencies.
  • Adhering to Trust policies when accessing patient information.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and abiding by the Data Protection Act.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating leave in line with administration arrangements to ensure continuity of service.
  • Supporting new staff induction and identifying training requirements.
  • Facilitating a supportive learning environment for the administration team.
  • Participating in the Trust’s appraisal system and personal development planning process.

Compliance with health and safety regulations, data protection, and infection control policies is essential. The post holder must also comply with Trust policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct.

Qualifications required include:

  • Trained and experienced at intermediate level in a range of software packages, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • GCSE English & Maths grade A* to C or equivalent.
  • NVQ 3 in Business or Administration (or equivalent or relevant experience).

Experience required includes:

  • Demonstrable administration experience within an office environment.
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience of using a wide range of Microsoft applications including Excel and Outlook.

Skills required include:

  • Accurate and efficient IT and keyboard skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to operate independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of colleagues both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection is essential. The postholder will have access to vulnerable people and will be subject to a Disclosure check.
