Join us at WWF-UK as a Legacy Engagement Coordinator (FTC) at the Living Planet Centre, Woking, Surrey. This is a fixed-term role linked to maternity cover for up to 12 months, ending no later than 12 August 2027.
About the role
We’re excited to be recruiting a Legacy Engagement Coordinator to help provide thoughtful, personal and responsive support to WWF-UK’s legacy and in-memory supporters. Working closely with the Legacy and In Memory Supporter Manager, you’ll help build strong and lasting relationships with people who are considering leaving a gift to WWF-UK, have pledged a gift in their will or are choosing to support our work in memory of someone important to them. You’ll be a key point of contact for supporters, responding to enquiries by telephone, email and post with empathy, care and professionalism. You’ll write personal thank-you letters and cards, support people through sensitive conversations and help ensure every supporter feels recognised and valued. You’ll also maintain accurate records of supporter conversations and updates through our CRM system, manage the team inbox and coordinate referrals to WWF-UK’s free wills provider. Working closely with Supporter Care, Legacy Management and colleagues across Public Fundraising, you’ll help provide a joined-up and consistently high-quality supporter experience. Alongside this, you’ll support the delivery of legacy events, helping to coordinate invitations, RSVPs, supporter enquiries and event logistics. You’ll also provide practical support across legacy marketing, stewardship and in-memory activity as required. This is a varied and highly people-focused role that combines supporter care, administration, relationship management and event coordination.
Skills and experience
- Experience working in a supporter care, customer service or relationship-management environment
- Experience communicating with members of the public by telephone, email, letter and, where appropriate, face to face
- Ability to communicate with empathy and sensitivity about bereavement, gifts in wills and in-memory giving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write thoughtful and highly personalised correspondence
- Ability to adapt your communication style to the needs and preferences of different supporters
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to make people feel listened to, understood and valued
- Experience handling challenging or emotionally sensitive conversations calmly and professionally
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage enquiries, administrative tasks and competing deadlines effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when recording supporter information and communications
- Experience using a CRM, database or similar system to maintain clear and complete records
- Good digital skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and managing shared inboxes
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across different teams
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and resolve issues appropriately
- Commitment to providing an inclusive and respectful experience for people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Experience working within fundraising, supporter engagement or the charity sector
- Experience supporting legacy, in-memory or high-value supporters
- Experience coordinating supporter events, including invitations, RSVPs and event logistics
- Experience working with external suppliers or service providers
- Experience collating supporter information, feedback or results and sharing insights with internal stakeholders
- Experience using a fundraising CRM, ideally Canopy
