About the role: We are looking to recruit a Senior Finance Analyst to join a small team working in our Financial Planning & Analysis unit. The team works together to provide financial support and advice across a wide portfolio of programmes with a variety of funding sources.

As Senior Finance Analyst you will help support the financial management of projects, programmes and donor restricted funds. This will involve:

  • Formulating and setting budgets
  • Preparing financial reports and forecasts
  • Managing donor financial audit processes
  • Challenging and helping budget holders deliver realistic budgets and forecasts for cost centres and projects
  • Documenting reasoning and underlying assumptions for stakeholders
  • Clarifying any variances
  • Providing regular financial information across the portfolio
  • Tracking spending across programme workstreams and cost centres
  • Maintaining fund reporting schedules
  • Reporting forex movements across the portfolio
  • Supporting a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practice and developing and streamlining processes
  • Assisting with capability building across our Network partners
  • Deputising for the Head of Programmes Finance where needed

We are looking for someone with:

  • Accountancy experience & ideally part or fully qualified
  • Experience of preparing donor bids & reports, knowledge of donor rules and regulations for high-compliance donors would be an advantage
  • Significant experience of providing financial reports & information to non-finance staff & supporting them in the management of budgets
  • Experience of delivering against monthly recurring deadlines
  • Good knowledge of finance applications (preferably Business Central)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • The ability to encourage a culture of continuous improvement

Benefits, rewards & location: The salary for this role is £37,581pa. We also offer a full benefits and rewards package including:

  • Annual leave starting at 26 days a year, rising one day each year to a maximum of 31 days plus bank holidays

This role is hybrid and you will be required to be in the office 20% of your contracted hours. The job is based at our UK head office, the Living Planet Centre in Woking, Surrey. The Living Planet Centre is one of the greenest buildings in the UK, and you will hot desk among trees and gardens.
