As Policy Adviser you will work closely with one of our energy corporate partners and focus on influencing policy related to accelerating the deployment of low carbon technologies in the home and making sure we are decarbonising the UK’s energy and heating sector. You will get involved on wider net zero policy in the climate team as well as climate and land use, working with the UK government and key stakeholders too. Your remit will include analysing existing and proposed policies for effectiveness and quality as well as researching new policy ideas. You will also produce technical reports, coordinate activity with regional colleagues and develop links and strategic relationships with other organisations to maximise our impact. We’re looking for someone with: Experience and knowledge in climate policy. An understanding of how policy is developed and influenced, how policy and politics interact and how one can be used to influence the other. Experience of carrying out and commissioning research. Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. An understanding of the opportunities and challenges that arise from working on issues across the whole of the UK. Benefits, rewards & location The salary for this role is £37,581. We also offer a full benefits and rewards package including: Annual leave starting at 26 days a year, rising one day each year to a maximum of 30 days plus bank holidays Flexible working options 5% employer contribution to pension, increased to 10% with employee contribution.
