The International Payroll Senior Lead will assist the International Payroll Manager in all aspects of payroll operations. This position is responsible for coordinating payroll for EMEA and Pacific countries, ensuring compliance and managing data inputs and controls.
Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of UK Payroll, including related benefits, taxes, and salary sacrifice schemes.
- Manage a portfolio of EMEA and APAC countries assigned by Payroll managers.
- Prepare data for submission to the payroll vendor in the prescribed format, ensuring accurate inputs for certain countries.
- Review monthly payroll instructions prepared by team members for other countries.
- Liaise with payroll providers on submissions and handle any queries for assigned countries.
- Coordinate with internal partners and stakeholders regarding payroll‐required data, resolving questions and issues.
- Perform all assigned responsibilities within the agreed‐upon timeframes.
- Complete payroll checklists to document compliance with internal controls and procedures.
- Act as first‐line contact for queries from employees, internal partners, and vendors.
- Participate in discussions with vendors to ensure proper handling of issues and use of controls to mitigate risk.
- Run payroll reports and assist the Compensation Accounting team with queries regarding payroll accounting.
- Provide feedback to Payroll Manager and Directors on possible process improvements and operational risks.
- Have a good understanding of time‐off policies and applications in the countries handled.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedure documents with process and control changes.
- Assist with firm initiatives and projects as needed.
- Help mentor, train and manage other team members, if needed.
Qualifications
- Solid UK, EMEA & APAC payroll experience in handling numerous countries and a strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
- Capable of working independently and effectively as a member of a team and in partnership with internal partners and vendors.
- Self‐starter, inquisitive professional with strong analytical skills, detail‐oriented, and focused on maintaining a strong internal control environment.
- Strong organizational and time‐management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of Workday and CloudPay a plus.
