About Wutian Martial Arts

Wutian Martial Arts is a growing, community-driven academy focused on developing confidence, discipline, and resilience in both children and adults. We are expanding our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programme (Gi & No-Gi) and are looking for a committed coach to help build and develop this programme long-term.

The Role

We are seeking a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach (minimum Purple Belt) who can confidently teach Gi and No-Gi classes for children and adults.

We currently have 10–12 hours per week available on the timetable. Coaches who commit to these sessions are expected to deliver them consistently each week.

Additional hours may become available as classes grow.

Grading days are paid separately and are not included in weekly coaching hours.

Additional Opportunity: Coaches who are also able to teach striking disciplines such as Muay Thai and/or Kickboxing may be offered additional coaching hours, subject to timetable needs.Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Gi and No-Gi BJJ classes for children and adults
  • Help build and grow a new BJJ programme
  • Develop and maintain a structured children\'s BJJ syllabus
  • Support the creation and development of a BJJ competition team
  • Prepare and coach students for Gi and No-Gi competitions
  • Work with the leadership team to:
  • Establish and maintain an affiliation or under the club name
  • Maintain consistent coaching standards
  • Communicate student progress clearly with the coaching and admin team

Who We\'re Looking For

You should:

  • Be a minimum Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
  • Have experience teaching Gi and No-Gi
  • Have experience teaching both adults and children
  • Have competition and sparring experience
  • Be reliable, organised, and professional
  • Be motivated to build a programme, not just teach isolated classes
  • Be comfortable coaching students towards competition level

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Ability to teach Muay Thai and/or Kickboxing
  • Willingness to take on additional classes if available

Schedule (Initial Sessions Available)

  • Monday: 5:00pm – 8:30pm
  • Wednesday: 6:00pm – 8:30pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday:
  • Morning: 7:15am – 8:15am
  • Lunch: 11:30am – 12:30pm
  • Saturday (1-2 hrs time not set)

Approx hours per week to start, with scope to increase as classes grow.

Requirements

  • DBS check (required or willing to apply)
  • First Aid certificate (preferred)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Strong communication and time-management skills

Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour
