Wundetalent has partnered with a fast growing technology consultancy on a newly created VP of Technology role, and we are looking for a genuine consultancy leader to own the technical health, delivery performance and commercial growth of a UK region.
A quick word on the client. They are a consultancy in serious growth mode, solving fundamental business problems with technology for clients that range from start ups to multinationals. Their work spans Fintech, Gaming, Crypto, Aviation, Health and Entertainment, and they are pushing hard into AI native delivery, embedding agentic AI and LLM driven automation into real client engagements rather than talking about it on stage. Think technically gifted teams, close client partnerships and a culture where senior leaders still write, architect and code.
What you would own:
- You would carry the region. Technical Directors, Senior Architects and Technical Managers would report to you, and through them you are accountable for every engagement in your portfolio from a quality, delivery and growth perspective.
- Leading discovery and initial architecture on the most complex accounts.
- Being the senior technical relationship for C level client stakeholders.
- Running the regional bench and capacity.
- Driving farming led presales proposals that win new work inside existing accounts.
- Leading the AI transformation agenda across the region.
The clients you work with would know you by name. This is a consultancy hire, and that part is firm. You will only be considered if you have built your career inside technology consultancies. This role lives and dies on consulting economics, scope, margin, bench cost, utilisation and account growth, and on the rhythm of multiple concurrent client engagements. Brilliant in house or product engineering leaders without a consultancy background are not the fit here, and I would rather be upfront about that now than waste your time.
What you will bring:
- 15 to 20 years in software creation and technology consulting.
- A track record line managing senior technical people at regional or portfolio scale (Technical Directors, Architects, Technical Managers).
- Hands on software architecture across multiple clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), still close enough to the work to lead design and challenge decisions.
- Real strength in agentic AI, LLM integration patterns and modern automation, with the ability to drive these into client delivery.
- A proven ability to seed new client relationships and grow accounts, comfortable presenting to and influencing senior executive audiences.
- A degree in Computer Science or a closely related field (required), with a postgraduate qualification preferred.
- Exceptional spoken and written English. Spanish is a bonus.
The package:
Base salary to £250,000 depending on experience, with bonus taking on target earnings to around £300,000. Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office.
