We are looking for an Analytics Manager to work within the VML Data team. The Analytics Manager will lead a team of analysts who will be responsible for analysing data to deliver value through understanding our clients’ data and the performance of marketing activities. Working closely with the wider analytics and data team, you will be responsible for determining the prioritisation of projects based on expected value to the business and identifying the best resource to work on each project based on skills and specialities.

As an Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of measurement and insight projects across various marketing activities and work with data strategists and consultants to answer business questions, ultimately ensuring that we are making the best use of available data to deliver against the client vision.

On a day-to-day basis you will lead across all analysis projects, ensuring the final delivery is to a high degree of accuracy. You will mentor and manage a diverse group of analysts, inspiring and reassuring them, ensuring they are confident in their work and delivering to the optimal level. This is predominantly a technical role grounded in web analytics data, so you should be experienced in handling large data sets and a variety of web analytics tools. Communication and interpersonal skills are important, both in collaborating with clients and colleagues across multiple disciplines.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage a team of analysts to deliver the optimal quality of work.
  • Ensure all in the team are aware of latest innovations and ways of working, especially in the evolving world of AI.
  • Design, manage, and deliver end-to-end analyses aimed at helping Marketing to optimise across the funnel.
  • Manage all workloads and allocate projects based on skills and capabilities, ensuring all in the team are learning new skills.
  • Oversee the delivery of measurement and effectiveness projects, including dashboard reporting and deep dive evaluations to understand the impact marketing has on behaviour.
  • Deliver and take lead on strategic projects (segmentation, modelling), utilising statistical techniques to develop a deep understanding.
  • Ensure that the most relevant methodologies are applied to measure and evaluate, proactively recommending better ways of working.
  • Develop and provide written and verbal output on reports and presentations, supporting with recommendations on marketing strategy.
  • Manage and resolve data issues involving quality and consistency of data.
  • Be the clients' trusted advisor on data and analytical methodology - make it easy for them to make business decisions based on data.
  • Present to clients and attend client meetings.
  • Be highly collaborative in integrating data work into agency deliverables, working with strategy and account teams to develop a culture of data-informed decision-making.
  • Offer leadership and expertise to support the development of junior team members.
  • Develop the skills and knowledge of colleagues, creating and sustaining a learning culture within the team.

Experience:

  • 8+ years working in a marketing or related field as an analytics manager or senior analyst who has managed a team.
  • Experience of coding languages for analysis (Python, BigQuery & SQL preferred).
  • Experience of web analytics tools such as GA.
  • Experience of developing wireframes and creating dashboards.
  • Experience in data storytelling, demonstrating how to interpret data into recommendations.
  • Understanding of where and how to use AI to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proven record of delivering high-quality outputs.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage a team as well as own workload autonomously and thrive in an agency environment, working across multiple teams.
  • Able to translate business needs and requirements to analytical methods and outputs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • High-level analytical skills in relation to performance analysis.
  • Experience of devising, implementing and managing reporting dashboard design, update and automation using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and Looker Studio.
  • Good knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques that include customer segmentation, predictive modelling, multivariate analysis, querying and reporting tools, A/B testing and statistical significance.
