Key Criteria
- Candidates should ideally be working in the same (or similar) field of healthcare communications. Experience of Proofreading / Fact-checking and Veeva platform management in a scientific/medical field is expected.
- The focus of the role is to ensure data & language accuracy across a wide range of assets, both in initial manuscript form and final layout. Assets are usually developed in PDF or PPT format, along with videos, animations and websites.
- Candidates should be skilled in checking referenceable data against annotated ref packs and also be able to edit materials from a language / grammar and style perspective. They should be conversant with Veeva / PromoMats and able to support on reference anchoring when required.
- The ideal candidate will be a team player who is also able to work autonomously and manage their own workload, switching priorities when necessary. They will usually be working across a variety of projects at the same time with varying client deadlines.
- Maintaining an excellent attention to detail at all times is a prerequisite for the role.
Desirable Skills
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Professional and PowerPoint β particularly the review and comment functions for these software packages. Working knowledge of InDesign would be an advantage but not essential.
- Knowledge of the main medical/technical referencing styles β house style is Vancouver abbreviated, but can change according to project and client needs
Background information
The successful candidate will be joining a diverse international team of account handlers, medical writers and creatives, supporting major pharmaceutical clients in the production of both promotional and medical education communications materials, e.g.
- Educational PowerPoint decks
- Visuals aids for client sales teams to use in HCP meetings
- Brochures and leaflets aimed at both HCPs and patients
- Meeting and congress material β posters, panels, stage dressing, programme books, speaker biographies, evaluation forms etc.
- Educational/Promotional animations and videos β there is a significant digital component to the materials we produce
The successful candidate would be working alongside a team of proofreaders / fact-checkers located throughout Europe and would report into the Scientific and Editorial Team Manager, based in Italy. There would be daily contact with a very large (and friendly) team of medical writers, client account handlers and creatives.
