The Opportunity: Billing Controller

You\’ll be at the heart of our financial processes, working closely with various teams to maintain financial integrity and support our continued growth.
What You\’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
As our Billing Controller, you will be instrumental in managing our billing lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Client Billing Expertise: Gaining a deep understanding of each client\’s unique billing processes and requirements to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- WIP Management & Analysis: Proactively analyzing Work-In-Progress (WIP) on a weekly basis, ensuring accurate allocation per job, and swiftly resolving any discrepancies to prepare for month-end close.
- Unbilled Revenue Oversight: Diligently managing unbilled revenue, actively following up internally for any missing client Purchase Orders (POs) to minimize delays.
- Query Resolution: Collaborating effectively with the Credit Control team to efficiently resolve any invoice queries related to billing, maintaining strong client relationships.
- Job Closure Support: Assisting the Revenue Controller in the timely closure of open jobs within our financial systems.
- New Job Setup: Accurately setting up new jobs for our Project Management and Account Management teams, ensuring all financial parameters are correctly established.
- Cost Estimate Approval: Reviewing and approving cost estimates within Workday, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
- Deadline Adherence: Consistently meeting all client billing deadlines each month, ensuring invoices are delivered via the client\’s preferred method.
Who You Are (Skills & Experience):
You are a highly organized and analytical individual with a proven track record in financial administration, ideally within a creative or agency environment. You\’re a natural problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
Specifically, you will possess:
- Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in billing and WIP control.
- Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy, ensuring precision in all financial data.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Great people skills with the ability to liaise effectively and build strong relationships with staff at all levels across the organization.
- Team Player: A proactive and collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive and dynamic environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Workday is preferred, demonstrating your ability to quickly adapt to and utilise financial management systems.
