We seek an experienced ERM professional to join our Risk & Resilience Advisory team as a Risk Advisor. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead and enhance our ERM proposition, providing advisory services to clients across the UK and internationally.
This home-based position involves occasional travel to WTW offices and client sites, with occasional international trips. In addition to ERM expertise, you’ll have opportunities to explore other risk disciplines, contribute to new business initiatives, and support account defenses and project delivery.
The Role
Key Areas of Focus
- Design and delivery of bespoke risk registers.
- Developing risk management frameworks and processes.
- Enterprise risk management (ERM).
- Helping clients improve their risk management practices.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to enhance their ERM capabilities.
- Deliver all stages of ERM programs, from frameworks and maturity reviews to risk registers, appetite workshops, and coaching.
- Lead proposal development and commercial activities for advisory services in a global professional services firm.
- Provide clear guidance on diverse risk issues, supporting clients in achieving their strategic goals.
Proposition Leadership
- Drive continuous improvement of WTW’s ERM products and services.
- Offer advice to clients and account teams on operational and risk challenges.
- Assist account teams with client servicing, new business proposals, and account defenses.
- Build strong, long-term client relationships by identifying and addressing needs.
- Share best practices and insights across teams and business units.
Growth and Business Development
- Participate in client and prospect meetings to promote services.
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop tailored sales strategies.
- Host client and industry events to drive engagement and growth.
Operational Excellence
- Support the Risk and Resilience Advisory Practice in building regional and industry expertise.
- Share knowledge, create training plans, and contribute to marketing efforts.
Qualifications
The Requirement
- Relevant industry and/or professional certifications.
- A degree in risk management or a related field is beneficial but not required.
Key Skills
- Strong analytical abilities and business acumen, with an understanding of strategy, operations, and objectives.
- Proven experience delivering consulting or advisory services, both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including to senior audiences.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, influencing across diverse internal and external audiences.
- Planning and problem-solving expertise, focused on exceeding client expectations.
- Facilitation skills that foster collaboration and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Knowledge of general insurance products, services, and processes is a plus.
Essential Experience
- Solid background in enterprise risk management in an in-house or advisory role.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Consistent track record of delivering high-quality client service.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including high-quality report writing.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with the insurance industry and its products.
- Experience working across multiple industry sectors.
- Consulting or client-facing roles in a professional services environment.
- Comfort with leveraging approved generative AI tools to enhance work outcomes.
