Lead with Expertise. Deliver with Impact. Shape the Future of Pensions. At WTW, we believe difference makes us stronger. We want our workforce to reflect the different and varied markets we operate in and to build a culture of inclusivity that makes colleagues feel welcome, valued and empowered to bring their whole selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive work environment throughout our organisation. We embrace all types of diversity.

This is an exciting opportunity to join WTW’s Outsourcing Business as a Senior Pension Calculation Analyst within the Business Solutions function of our Outsourcing Business Technology team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a highly skilled team of onshore and offshore specialists, supporting a wide range of Defined Benefit (DB) occupational pension schemes. As WTW continues its impressive growth—partnering with some of the largest pension schemes, delivering for LifeSight, supporting leading insurers, and rolling out our innovative OneDB proposition—you’ll play a key role in driving technical excellence, improving processes, and creating greater efficiency across our delivery model.

We’re looking for a professional with deep expertise in DB pensions, particularly in areas such as Guaranteed Minimum Pensions (GMP), GMP Equalisation, and Barber period calculations. You’ll combine strategic insight with hands‑on skills to lead complex work, mentor colleagues, and help shape smarter, scalable solutions. If you’re ready to take the lead, collaborate with passionate professionals, and make a meaningful impact in the pensions industry—we’d love to hear from you.

Why WTW? At WTW we trust you to know your work and the people, tools and environment you need to be successful. The majority of our colleagues work in a “hybrid” style, with a mix of remote, in‑person and in‑office interactions dependent on the needs of the team, role and clients. Our flexibility is rooted in trust and “hybrid” is not a one‑size‑fits‑all solution. We understand flexibility is key to supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce and so we encourage requests for all types of flexible working as well as location‑based arrangements.

This is a 12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract role.

The Role

  • Anticipate client needs and identify practical solutions for calculation suites.
  • Create tailored solutions for complex service offerings to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Collaborate with third parties such as scheme actuaries and solicitors to resolve technical queries.
  • Communicate confidently in meetings and handle challenging situations effectively.
  • Deliver efficient, professional service to meet client needs and promote the WTW brand.
  • Take ownership of projects within your remit.
  • Drive automation and process optimization.
  • Build technical expertise and contribute to measurable improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Interpret scheme rules and documentation into clear calculation specifications.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in UK occupational pensions with some experience in pension administration.
  • Expertise in Contracting Out Requirements such as GMP.
  • Strong Defined Benefit knowledge, including historical UK pensions legislation.
  • Ability to interpret scheme rules and documentation into clear calculation specifications.
  • Proactive mindset and ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Quick learner with aptitude for new technology and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and solution implementation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in virtual teams.
  • Process‑driven approach with flexibility to adapt.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in setting standards and advocating best practices.

Enjoy a benefits package designed to help you thrive, both professionally and personally. You’ll receive 25 days of annual leave plus an extra WTW day to relax and recharge. Our comprehensive health and wellbeing offering includes private healthcare, life insurance, group income protection, and regular health assessments, all giving you peace of mind. Secure your future with our defined contribution pension scheme, featuring matched contributions up to 10% from the company.
