WTW's Index Design team sits within our Investment Content team and is responsible for creating and evolving proprietary investment indexes used by institutional investors globally. As a Senior Investment Analyst, you will combine quantitative research, investment insight and technical expertise to develop innovative investment strategies, enhance existing indexes and build analytical solutions for sophisticated institutional investors. Joining a growing and highly visible team, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of WTW's index capabilities.
The Role
- You will work closely with investment, technology and industry specialists to support the design, implementation and continued evolution of systematic investment strategies and index-based solutions.
- Developing new investment strategies and enhancing the methodology of existing indexes.
- Monitoring index calculations, portfolio characteristics, performance and supporting data to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Building investment analytics, research and reporting to support portfolio construction and client decision-making.
- Designing bespoke quantitative solutions for sophisticated asset owners and institutional investors.
- Translating investment objectives and constraints into practical and scalable quantitative approaches.
- Partnering with investment, technology, operations and product teams to support successful solution delivery.
- Collaborating with index providers, data vendors, calculation agents and asset managers to support implementation.
- Conducting research to evaluate and improve index methodologies as markets, client needs and implementation approaches evolve.
- Developing, testing and maintaining quantitative tools and code used across research, reporting and implementation workflows.
- Working alongside WTW's quantitative research specialists and broader investment teams across asset classes.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- Essential Degree, or equivalent practical experience, in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance or a related field.
- Experience applying quantitative analysis to investment, financial or data-related challenges.
- Knowledge of systematic investing, portfolio construction and factor-based investment strategies.
- Programming experience in R or a similar language, with a willingness to further develop R expertise.
- Experience working with large datasets, databases and APIs to produce robust and repeatable analytical outputs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex quantitative concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across technical and investment-focused teams.
Preferred
- Experience with financial market data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet or similar tools.
- Experience developing reusable code libraries, analytical tools or research frameworks.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, Docker or Linux-based environments.
- Experience in index design, systematic investing, portfolio analytics or investment strategy research.
- Understanding of institutional investment clients and the practical delivery of investment solutions.
