The Business Development Executive for Affinity GB will support the delivery of profitable new business into this growing Line of Business in the UK. This role reports into GB Affinity Business Development Director and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to our go to market activity and revenue generation while developing skills across affinity and embedded insurance solutions.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across WTW CRB central and regional teams. The role focuses on supporting new business activity, from lead generation to closing of profitable new business, helping build strong client and partner relationships, and contributing to the visibility and understanding of WTW’s Affinity capabilities.
The Role:
- Assist in the execution of annual go‑to‑market plans for new business and gathering associated market insight.
- Operate as a key stakeholder responsible for contributing to the achievement of the Affinity department commercial targets.
- Support the identification and qualification of new business opportunities in line with growth expectations and strategic and tactical plans.
- Help build relationships with decision makers and influencers, promoting awareness of WTW Affinity solutions.
- Contribute to increasing internal and external awareness of our Affinity offering across target markets.
- Secure participation in new business opportunities ensuring thorough qualification and internal approval.
- Support / lead proposal development for allocated bids working in conjunction with marketing, bids, operational and technical support partners.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Maintain regular interaction with internal CRB and HWB colleagues, sharing updates on leads, pipeline activity and market insights.
- Collaborate with marketing to support the development and delivery of campaigns that generate leads and strengthen brand awareness.
- Collaborate with Affinity Sales colleagues in other countries to understand best practices and contribute to cross‑border opportunities.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates within MS Dynamics for all pipeline and reporting requirements.
- Assist in coordinating proposal responses and bids, ensuring alignment with profitability and governance guidelines.
- Support the development of MI for senior leadership, providing insights on pipeline progress and commercial activity.
Contribution to Sales Excellence
- Participate in developing win strategies for proposals, supporting senior colleagues in improving conversion rates.
- Help foster a high‑performance sales culture within a collaborative, matrixed environment.
- Manage priorities effectively and meet time‑sensitive deadlines with support from senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in affinity insurance business development, sales, or account management.
- Possesses strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities, understand market dynamics, and align business development activities with organisational objectives.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders and prospective clients.
- Comfortable working with data, reporting tools, and CRM systems (e.g., MS Dynamics).
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience supporting B2B or B2B2C sales processes is an advantage.
