We are looking for an experienced front-end web developer to join our growing engineering organization (headquartered in Reigate, ~300 engineers) developing a wide range of market leading InsurTech solutions. You will join us at an exciting time as we focus increasingly on cloud/SaaS solutions, upgrading existing products to new technologies and modern UX, as well as developing brand-new applications.

As a front-end web development lead, you will be working across multiple flexible agile squads delivering value on multiple greenfield workstreams in the delivery family. You will play a key role in designing and creating new features and enhancing existing code, whilst ensuring the foundational components continue to meet high levels of reliability, maintainability, usability, and performance.

The Role

  • Bring expertise and best practice having worked on professional, production-grade web applications, ideally in a SaaS or cloud-native context.
  • Use agentic systems to speed up UI development.
  • Work with the Product Manager and/or Product Owner to define, refine, and deliver the product backlog.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of frontend architecture within an NX monorepo, ensuring consistency of approach across the team.
  • Collaborate with UX designers working in Figma to iterate on high-quality, accessible GUI implementations from wireframes and design assets.
  • Champion and enforce WCAG 2 accessibility standards across all UI deliverables.
  • Implement product code following best practices for maintainability, testability, and performance, including unit tests with Vitest and end-to-end tests with Playwright.
  • Review and debug code to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt within a modern Angular/NestJS stack.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives), striving to continuously improve team velocity and engineering practices.
  • Address UI governance requirements covering security, accessibility, and performance.

Qualifications

  • The technology stack is Angular, NestJS (BFF), NX monorepo, tRPC, SCSS, C# and Azure, deployed via Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in Angular (v17+), TypeScript, HTML, and SCSS, with hands-on experience in a component-driven, SPA architecture.
  • Experience working within an NX monorepo structure, understanding workspace organisation, library boundaries, and build optimisation.
  • Actively use AI-assisted development tooling and have contributed to evolving best practices around prompt-driven development workflows.
  • Familiarity with NgRx Signal Store or equivalent reactive state management patterns.
  • Experience with NestJS or a comparable Node.js BFF layer, and comfort working across a tRPC-based API contract.
  • Solid understanding of WCAG 2 accessibility requirements and practical experience implementing them in Angular applications.
  • Ability to translate Figma designs into polished, pixel-accurate, responsive UI implementations.
  • Experience writing unit tests with Vitest (or Jest) and e2e tests with Playwright.
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code review workflows.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including authoring and maintaining YAML-based pipeline definitions.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development in a commercial or production environment.
  • Strong appreciation of UX principles and the ability to work collaboratively with a dedicated UX team.

Other highly desirable, but not essential skills are:

  • Ability to architect high-performance and scalable web application and supporting infrastructures.
  • Ability to coordinate day-to-day development and bug fixing activities.
  • Experience in guiding teams in UX strategy, implementations, and reviews.
  • Experience using VS Code, Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Experience with Azure.
  • Experience with Cypress and other unit testing tools.
  • General knowledge of the Insurance Industry.
  • Degree-educated with Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or relevant discipline.
